I have a Vega and noticed a few spots where the bowl wasn't perfectly smooth. When I felt inside It felt strange. I took out a flashlight and found cloth strips inside the bowl. 2 of them glued in. I wonder, is this a common way to repair a bowl that may have started to separate. 1 strip over a joint I can feel the other runs across the ribs and is either over a wood brace or is the kind of cloth used to bind edges in re-upholstery work. The kind that has a heavier woven strip down the center. Anyone seen this before? Thanks John

This is common. #It is reinforcing cloth to help hold the slats during building or repair.
