Today up in Julian I had the chance to play my friends new custom Yellowstone. Wow! What a great mandolin! It was shipped to him from the mandolin store and it arrived perfect. This mando is more like a custom Fern than a Yellowstone. It has a scooped fingerboard extension, gold hardware, tone bars, traditional Brekke bridge, cedar top, black and gold machine heads, Flowerpot on headstock, custom tiny rose inlay for the position markers. But the best thing is the sound. A very clear mandolin with strong bass on the G and D strings. Great chop and chords just sound pretty. So it is true, great things are going on at Weber. Nick
