For many years rock and roll hall of famer(is that pro enough?)Chris Hillman played a Nugget F5. While I saw him live with it many times over the years I'm pretty sure he has recorded with the '24 Loar he was given by friend Steve Stills. And I'm pretty sure he has since sold the Nugget. Nuggets seem to appeal to collectors.

Jeff bought the Nuggett from Drew Emmitt at last year's Telluride festival. I believe the Weds. night show at the conference center was the debut show. He was playing it last Thursday night. It's got a really nice crisp chop. He uses a small piezo on top of the bridge, and plays into a Neumann 105 for solos. Drew's original A model was for sale here recently. I think it went for around 13k.

Helmut Mitteregger plays an early Nugget F-5 that used to belong to Christian Seguret, who bought it from Tim OīBrien in the 80ies. Itīs an early Nugget that still has "Gibson" on the headstock. Probably one of the best Gibson they built in the 1970ies

Ironically, Helmutīs band is called Nugget (www.nugget.at) but was founded before Mike Kemmnitzer started building. It looks quite worn but definiely has some mojo.

I've only seen Paul playing what appears to be a custom colored Gil F5.
Possibly he has an A model Nugget as well.

I took a guitar workshop with Bull Harmon and he brought along Cecil Tinon, who at that time was the mando player from "Bull Harmon and Bull's Eye." Tinon was playing a Nugget A. I sat about five feet in front of Tinon for most of the workshop and I have to say that was the best sounding mando I have ever heard up close. Tinon is a heck of a player too.

Kim Elking with "Sidesaddle" plays two Nuggets. Her F model is the main instrument, and her A model is played in alternate tunings.

Ed Neff play Nugget serial number 1. He plays currently in "Adobe Creek", and has played in many bands over the years including "Vern & Ray".

Matt has a great CD I highly rec called "The View from here". All original tunes with David Grier, #Jerry Douglas, Tim O'Brien, and Stuart Duncan. Great disc, with a Nugget.
Nope. He plays a Gil, and played the Gil on this CD.

Kathleen Gustofson of the Frayed Knots has a wonderful blacktop A Nugget that she plays on stage.

Tom Corbett, a professional player from the LA area has a two-point and an F style Nugget. I think he plays the two-point most of the time. It sounds great.
Tom Corbett was touring Spain the last two weeks, and he's an incredible player, and a funny guy too!!!
I had the chance to try his Nugget and I'd say that mandolin is not from this world!! Sweet, soft, loud...the wood seemed to quiver just to feeling near to the pick.
