I saw this picture online today (from the Gruhn's site)- it's a picture of Roland White's Randy Wood #2 from here:

    Here's the photo:

I like the look of the mandolin, but I'm hoping to find this strap. Anybody know where to find it?

I do not want to make my own, or braid anything out of shoelaces, or anything like that. If anyone has a clue where to get a 'roo strap that is thick like this one, I'd be much obliged. I've seen smaller diameter ones at Carmel and other places, but I can't find one of this thickness anywhere. I'll buy used if anyone has one. Thanks...

I saw those- it didn't seem to be the right color, though. They look like great straps. Most all of them are backordered, so I guess I'll get on the list. If anybody has any other ideas, or a spare one laying around, let me know. Thanks.

I think First Quality has some of the Avery straps that are that thick still available. #I don't think they're 'roo but they are soft, comfortable, and don't stretch. #I've got one and love it. #They're not on the website or in the catalog so you'll have to give them a call. (800) 635-2021 #Ask for Mike B or Murrell, they'll set you up.

    NFI... #just a happy customer.

I believe the strap on that mandolin is an Avery. Jim Avery makes them and does a good job. They are not "roo" straps, but cowhide worked very well. They are available at the Bluegrass Showcase and I'm sure other places aroung the country. Good straps.
