I was surpised at this but when did search for the Saga mandolin kit (Kit# AM-10) on this board and got nothing.

So let me raise the topic here and see what the builders on this messageboard think. #

The kits seem to be inexpensive but feature a straight slot bolt on type neck rather that a dovetail. #

If this topic has been reviewed before here please just site the string and I will go there.

Read up on the IV kit (International Violin) it is the SAGA A-style Kit. International Violin just gives excellent service and a great price on the kit so we all just call it the IV kit.

It is not a bolt-on neck. There are at least two threads just about the neck joint they use. It is the Siminoff style neck joint and some well respected luthiers use this type joint.

Only 1 out of 8 mandolin kit models that International Violin offers is a Saga Kit. All others are exclusive to International Violin. I just wanted to make sure folks didn't think all our kits are from Saga.

Ken that is why I specifically mentioned the A-style kit. I remember you mentioning the fact that the various incarnations of the F's (kits and instruments in the white) where unique to International Violin.
