Seen some pictures but have not heard about the band contest and awards show. Just curious.

"Can I have a little more talent in the monitors please?"
Anybody have the list of award winners? It's not posted on the Spbgma webpage, nor could I find it in a news search.
A local picker Jamie Harper(Mocksville, NC) was nominated for mandolin. He's in some pretty big company.

Alan Bibey-Mandolin. Good start for his brand new band "Grasstowne"
But Amsterdam was always good for grieving
And London never fails to leave me blue
And Paris never was my kinda town
So I walked around with the Ft. Worth Blues
I just found this:

Any word on band contest?
"Can I have a little more talent in the monitors please?"
I love it... When did they start this traditional vs contemporary. Are the contemporary bands allowed to use an electric bass... This is too funny coming from SPGBMA or ENIGMA or what ever the spelling is.
I don't know, but I got a chuckle when I saw Clare Lynch under traditional female vocalist, because I don't consider much of her material traditional (always great, but not often traditional.) I assumed they were going by the tone of her voice.Originally Posted by

I'm a big Rhonda Vincent fan and bought her Bluegrass Girl CD. Some good songs, but overall I wasn't that impressed. However, I haven't listened to any of the other nominations.
I really like the Grascals (saw them at Bakersfield last weekend), but they weren't nominated. Maybe their CD missed the time window.

I shudder at the thought of some of these "Winners"...I love a lot of James Kings songs but not to the extent that he should be male vocalist of the year...Just my opinion....willie
