The original shape has been changed and anyone from novice to expert are welcome. The mando shown in the website does not represent the new design. The one pictured here does.
I will custom put together your kit (withing reason).
Your choice Octave or Standard with "X" braced, induced arch. Mark your calender.

Very nice Don -- will this design be available as a mail order kit as well? (BTW, I also really like the soundhole rosette.)

Indeed it will!!! #I have stopped all repair work and placed all my energy into the new kit design and this will be my new kit. #It is just a really pleasing shape and lends itself well for a great kit IMHO. #I am going with a bolt on neck design as well with both the Octave and the Standard. #After much experimentation and consideration, it really is the way to go. #I love it!! #I just sold the last Mando that had the "pear" shape. #Now, on to new things. #Thanks for your comments. #I really love the spalted maple too. #I guess that has become a signature of mine.

Am I correct in thinking that the same skills and tools that you would use to make an Octave Mandolin could be used in making a acoustic guitar from a kit?

Will you ever come to the eastern OK area? I would really love to go to one of your workshops.

    Don,

When will the plans for the new designs be available?
