Three beauties Len! And the Duff doesn't need to apologize.
Curious though...why did you (or did you?) get rid of the Duff F5?
(sorry if I asked you this before...can't remember)
Yes FH, the Duff F-5 was sold about 3 years ago to help fund some home repair projects that needed to be done prior to selling the condo. We needed to get out of that condo due to exorbitantly high mortgage payments, HOA fees, property taxes and insurance and the never popular federal flood insurance needed when your home is only 8 feet above sea level. Fortunately for us, we were able to get the projects completed and the condo was only on the market for 2 months before we sold it for a tidy (i.e. very modest) profit. We lived there for about 9 years and purchased it before the economy hit the skids. It took many years before we were "above water" (figuratively speaking) with the sale price vs. equity ratio.
That Duff F-5 was a great mandolin but it hardly got enough play time to see how it would develop sonically. It was bought brand new and was great right out of the box. It was sold as a mint condition (nearly unplayed) example of Paul's work. I miss it somewhat but didn't really bond with it through no fault of the mandolin. I had already bonded with my Gibson F-12. I had also bonded with the Duff H-5 mandola w/Virzi which I've owned since new. What a voice!!!
Thanks for asking,

Funny how a 9-year old thread can get resurrected and it just resumes like it was brand-new! Oh well, I'll play too.

ROADTRIP!!! (er, I mean AIRTRIP!!!). I've never been to Spain but my lovely wife has and loves it there. So Almeriastrings, can we throw a little party in your courtyard? Tapas and a Ramon Bilbao? I really do prefer to call it a patio. Just saying...

Was there last year. Andy was very kind to show off his mandolins in his place in Mojacar on the coast not far from his main house further in the hinterland. It was one of the highlights on my stay in southern Spain last year. I would be happy to go back any time.

Fixed your name in my previous post. Sorry about that Andy! I have doing a lot of physical work in the garden today.

No problem Nic!
You are forgiven!
Nic gave a great performance of some Eastern European tunes in particular while he was here, and our local folk audience enjoyed it very much. Quite a different style of picking from mine, which they are more used to.
