I'm planning to do a traditional sunburst w/ lacquer finish.

Thanks guys... yes I did all the inlay work and you're close ethanopia... civil engineer. I had to take the mando to work today to use the digital camera.
My first attempt sure didn't look that good, very nice. Since you built it totaly from scratch and it was your first attempt how long did it take you to reach that stage?

The longest part of building this mandolin was having to save up for some of the tools I needed. In actual work I'd say I've got somewhere around 150 hours in it maybe more??? I'm sure my time will drastically improve on the next because I have my jigs made and hopefully I won't make as many mistake.
I want to see that BACK after it is done, it has a great look to the grain, can already tell it will look very cool!
