Has anyone played this or have any info about it?
    Thanks,

I owned that mandolin for a while. #FWIW, it was not the best of the three Master Models I owned. #Very nice looking though!

    Good luck.

    Thanks a lot!
I sort of figured that, as it's been up for sale a couple of times.

I called on that Fern awhile back. It had no bottom end when played. I suspect the lack of playing time and old strings are also not helping. It is nice looking.

Actually, with new strings and some playing time that Fern Master Model has a pretty decent bottom end. #It's mostly lacking in the midrange punch and Loarish tone.

So not all signed Derrington MM's are good? Is that what I'm hearing?

This one has had three years+ to "open up"

Wonder what Charlie or BigJoe would say to that? Maybe it needs some setup??

I would prefer to say some are better than others. I have not played one yet that was not good. I have not played this one in a good while so cannot comment on it. However, as I said above, I have never seen one that was not good, just some that exceptional.
