    Anyone know much about Howard Fry and where i can buy his album Gypsy Mandolin.

    Folkways, as an on-demand CD-R. Buy it already, that's one of the best mandolin albums ever, and this isn't an exaggeration.

    The CD comes with liner notes that have some biographical information. Other than that, i don't know much. His mandolin got sold on eBay recently. There was a thread in the Cafe which had a lot of gushing and a little additional information on Fry.

    Correct spelling of his name is Frye. His wife, Beverly, still plays in the New York Mandolin Orchestra and I saw her at the CMSA convention a few years ago.
