Thought everyone might like to see this for a break from F's and A's.
It was made by Semie Moseley who made Mosrite guitars, made famous by the Ventures. Nudie is the guy who made all the early rinestone cowboy singer suits.

Boy, that brings back memories!
I met Semie in a small church in French Camp, California, oh, about 1967 or 68. He was playing his 3 neck guitar, one of which was strung mandolin style. He also has some more kind of electronics (for the day). He would play a rift standing up, touch one of his foot control pedals and the rift he just played would repeat while he played over the top of it with one of the shorter necks on his guitar. That was amazing to us back then. Today computers can do just about anything. He also cut several religious albums if I'm not mistaken.
He had a great singing voice, much like Marty Robbins. I know he had a short-lived hit back in the late 60's with "Hold On".
Thanks for jogging good memories.

There's a book on Nudie that has a whole (though small) section on his mandolins/mando playing. I think there was even a pic of the "infamous" Kay/Bigsby in there..

I've yet to pick up his CD: Nudie and His Mandolin, though I did recently pick up "Gilded Palace of Sin" which features his threadwork on its cover.
Totally off the topic, but when I did the "New Posts" link, it put this post (Nudie's Mosrite) right under Bone Nuts.
I thought I had linked onto a completele DIFFERENT forum...

Just an observation that when this instrument was listed for sale, a decade after Jim posted it here, the asking price was $400K. https://patch.com/washington/seattle...t-sale-seattle

In late 2018 I went to see former Monkee Michael Nesmith and he appeared on stage wearing his original 1968 Nudie hat. He said that they could still be bought for about $60,000 . . . compared to the $400,000 mandolin, that's a steal of a price . . . .
So Martin- did it ever sell? I'm surprised you didn't pick it up.

I certainly had my chance! I'm not sure if Emerald City Guitars still has it. I would have offered a trade, but my firstborn son said he wasn't interested in spending the rest of his life in a guitar shop.
