People tend to stick thier noses up at mm because the lower lines are pretty cheap, but some of the upper lines are actually pretty good and they have had a few models run right around the $1000 mark so if there was a limited run I could see a boost. The mms-8 that I have is a great mando in this price range and the mms-6 with a satin cherry burst they had a couple years ago I wouldnt mind at all paying $700 or $800 used for.

Well, the Dawgs were made in Japan at Sumi's workshop. Those Sumi Kentuckys are a special case.Older Korean made Kentucky's, especially the Dawg model, sell for far more than they originally retailed.
