    Hello all:

Some day soon I too will be the proud owner of a custom 5-string electric by rising star Jonathan Mann. Inspired by Dfyngravity and his mini PRS, I've contracted with Mr. Mann for a mini PRS with a Les Paul body style.

Jon has been a real pleasure to work with and has indulged by enthusiasm, discussing many options with me, all of which were very appealing. In the end, we decided the Manndo should be jet black on the front with black dials and chrome pick-ups. The back will be stained black so that those who peek underneath can check out the grain of the wood. Maybe because of the "charred" image that evokes in my head, I've come to call my Manndo-to-be "Smokey."

Join me in watching Smokey come into existence.

You should post this in the Post a Picture section. Tnis section is really more for information on repairs and the building process. It will get more views in the other section.

Looks great, Rob. I've got a Mann F-7 and love it. You'll be a satisfied customer.

Re: the photo of the EM siblings; I guess this might explain why we haven't seen many/any new acoustic mandolins from Jon in the past year.

Well I've had my Mann electric for a couple of months now and it's been proved to be a real treasure. Though what I've learned on my acoustic helps, the electric is a whole different breed and allows me to delve into new areas and greatly expand my playing options. To see several pics of the instrument, check out the following link and scroll to the bottom http://www.manndolins.com/electric_manndolins.htm

The pickups are DiMarzio. Very nice.
