Thought I'd post it here. I mentioned it over in the bluegrass section, but thought the blues guys might have an interest.

The last week I've gotten into uploading stuff to YouTube.com of me practicing. Here's one of some little blues thing I made up on the spot. It's an awful lot like the stuff I gig out on:

Kimble A5 that I received in partial trade for my previous Kimble F5. Red spruce top, highly flamed maple back and sides. Gibson Super 400 inlays. Was a homage (custom ordered) to the blonde Dudenbostel A5 (#21) pictured on third page of the Dude thread in Post Your Pictures.

It's taken me a bit to get to know the mandolin--since it's different tonally from the F5--but I think it's a keeper.

As far as the blues tune, it's not all that great, but it was mainly me working out some position stuff.

Well, with all the cam stuff, that's my iSight being directly recorded by QuickTime. I just uploaded the auto-encoded H264 QT file. In the case of Looks Like Trouble from my DVD, that was MPEG4.

Really you don't have to do anything particular for YouTube, it seems to be encoding everything for its purposes when you upload it. As long as it's a video file and meets their size restrictions, it seems to be fine.
