I am a guitar player that has madolin fever......just bought a 1924 gibson snakehead A junior....WOW. This thing has an incredible sound....all original with pickguard, cloud tailpiece, case etc. Couldn't beleive it was in as good of condition as it is for an 82 year old instrument. I'm hooked !!!! Gave $900 for it.

Good deal?? That was a steal. Congrats, you are starting with a wonderful instrument, hang on to it. Keep in mind that oval hole instruments do not have the bluegrass sound, but they sound great for practically anything else (and some folks use them for bluegrass anyway, because, hey, why not?). Enjoy, and join in.

I don't know if you saw it but Mike Compton just sold his on Ebay for over $6000. But that one had a oodles of goodies and ephemera from the O Brother sessions and Down from the Mountain tour as well being owned by one of the coolest players ever...
I'd say you did really well for $900, hope you enjoy it.
I'm thinking about putting some waverlys on mine sometime in the near future...
