I own a Harmony Batwing electric, and it sounds 'right' on certain things. I haven't played a D'Angelico, but I probably wouldn't compare the two, except to say that a D'Angelico doesn't belong in a smoky South-side bar at 2am on a saturday.
    Forget with the cowbell, already...

That D'Aquisto that Dan has added photos of was my inspiration for designing my Lawrence Smart oval hole. I used the D'Aquisto detailing, but put it on a long neck A model chassis.

Dan- I'd like to know where that blonde you pictured resides now. I believe Dick Dia played one like that.

Oh, Eugene, I love your description of their tone. I must say I played one of those at a shop in suburban Chicago that played so well I actually thought about buying it. Instead, I had the shop owner set up my mandolin to play that way. Now that I think back, it did have kind of a sissy tone. ...

The harmony ones aren't prized, unless by "prized" you mean "under $1k"
Thus the "relatively" modifier. I know some folks who really go for those funky things.
Oh yeah absolutely. I'd love to have one actually, I think they are cool

I just meant "prized" in terms of "cash money value", sorry to sound mercenary!
