What is the title and artist of the 70's hit that goes...

"Give me the beat, boys and free my soul. I wanna get lost in your rock'n'roll and drift away..."

    Thanks.

Who changed "rock and roll" to "country music" and had a small hit on the country charts?

I apologize for the "off-topic" insertion , but the above song - for some reason(!!??##), brought to mind: "Third Rate Romance, Low Rent Rendezvous"(Amazing Rhythem Aces) - Nice "sliding" rhythem/vocals and "catchy" lyrics - (IMHO) - Perhaps I'm a "closet" rock n' roller... hee.. hee.. We now return to your regular program. - Moose.
