    Unhappy

If anyone has played the "Wade" F-5 mandolins by Yoichi Ueda, what do you think (evaluation) of them?

I played one a few years ago at SPBGMA....I was impressed with it..it had the thump....and the fit and finish was pretty good too...

I played one about a year ago that was owned by a dealer. Yes, the bottom end was nice and round. The high end, however, was very thin and brittle. It was a lacquer finished model. I think the price was 4500. For that money I think you can do quite a bit better.

I have one and love it. It has a one piece back and the best wood I've seen in a mandolin. Varnish Finish very Loarish sounding. My MF5 and F5L are taking a back seat to this guy.
