Does anyone know if Charlie Derrington is still at Gibson? Someone on a flatpick-l was reporting very recent management changes in the mandolin division.

This comes up every few months. Here is a thread on this and on his post of Dec 10 Big Joe says Charlie Derrington is his boss which would mean he was still at Gibson two weeks ago.

Believe he's still with Gibson, but not actively managing the mandolin production any longer. Recall he moved into another mgmt position there. Correct me if I'm wrong...

Charlie is alive and well at Gibson. He has not worked in the mandolin (OAI) portion of Gibson since Jan 1 2005. He still plays all the time, and does some consulting to the guys at OAI. Like many corporations, Gibson is always a company in flux and departments and policies change from time to time. I'm sure there will be more changes in the future. Hopefully they will always be for the better. Time will tell .

Who has replaced Charlie at OAI? Is it Joe Vest?

    Is Big Joe still alive?
Hey, ave I been paying for flowers for guys who haven't gone over yet? I thought I heard that Tom Montgomerie took Henry's job. I'm so confused. Where does Tom Murphy fit in this mix?

He was spotted in Vegas last week on a street corner with Elvis, Bruce Lee & Jimmy Hoffa.
