Perhaps the experts can help me here. I have a 1912 F4 with a pickguard that is missing the connector piece and the clamp. I located a vintage one (clamp and connector). What glue do I use to affix the connector to the underside of the pickguard? Rich Michaud

I read some threads below that seem to answer my question. Unless someone tells me I am wrong, I will use Weld-on 16 from Stew-Mac. Rich

Did you see this thread? Darryl has a lot of experience with pick guards.

To repair and not cause further damage good quality epoxy like West System would be a good choice, but you have to buy at least a quart, and mixing proportions are critical. The Weld On looks like a reasonable possibility since it isn't supposed to soften the surrounding material.

    Hi Rich,

I use Weld-on 16 for binding, and I don't think I would recommend it for the pickguard as it does soften the celluloid just like Duco. I'd be real tempted to use cyano.

Thank you Hans and Michael. It sounds like superglue is the more conservative approach which I will try first. I very much appreciate the fact that both of you took the time to help me out. Rich
