Default Source/Size Rubber Silicone Washer to Keep Strap on End Pin Jack?

Can anyone tell me the specific size and/or source for a rubber/silicone washer to keep my mandolin (or guitar) straps on the end pin jack? My end pin jacks are "standard" size. I know that Stew Mac carries some rubber washers but the holes are too small. I can always punch out the hole to make it larger.

    Thank You!

"Silicone strap locks" are what you're looking for. There are several options on Amazon.

If you have time to wait for delivery.

I also use them on guitar wallhangers, when used for ukuleles and mandolins, with their smaller heads.

12 Pieces Guitar Strap Locks Silicone Strap Locks Rubber Guitar Strap Blocks Guitar Protector (Black) https://a.co/d/7hv6IBZ

I've used these before on a Tele and another guitar that my strap kept coming off from... I play at church where Stand-up/Sit-down/Stand-up/Sit-down happens a lot and a few of my end pegs just don't get along with it.

Also, in the past I've sewn the strap slit a little tighter with upholstery thread.

I looked forward to collecting a few Grolsch bottle washers but they only sell that particular amber nectar in cans in the UK nowadays - not sure about the wider world. I eventually went to a local home brewing shop and bought some. Not expensive and a bit tight but they stretch to fit. The only downside is that the only colour they had was red.

Have you seen these - https://www.pinegroveleather.com/gui...endpin-adaptor

A safety pin works too. As does another piece of leather with a smaller hole on top of the strap. Also doubling the strap back on itself and having two layers.

Ive been using these Dunlop strap retainers for 20+ years, and they work well. They use a cam system, are easy to get on or off, and have never let me down, through countless gigs and sessions.

Thanks everyone for your help! I've ordered some strap keepers on Amazon. They might do the job. I thought that they were for end pins and strap pins, not the larger metal jack. I've seen the Pinegrove adaptors. If the the strap keepers don't fit, I'll go with those. Might buy some of that beer too...

I have a couple of straps designed for endpin jacks. They work well. As does the Music Nomad Acousti-Lok, which screws onto the endpin jack after the cap is removed, and has a standard strap pin on it.

https://www.amazon.com/MusicNomad-Ac...034475990&th=1 I have these on my instruments with endpin jacks, and I like them.

After looking, I don't see the Neotech endpin straps now. Perhaps they stopped making them. Too bad.

A little late here - was doing product research ...

I got something at a local ACE hardware store once in the plumbing section, but didn't save the info, and on a quick browse there (there are a *lot* of rubber-y washers in the plumbing section), I could not find what I thought was the right/same thing. I have learned that you basically want a *flat* washer and not one with what looks like an "oreo" and has any kind of fiber layer - those kind simply won't stretch.

I got a pack of EB rubber washers off Amazon (orange in the pix), and they are thicker than the washer I got at ACE a few years back. If you have a thick casting at that part of the tailpiece, coupled with a thick strap, it may or may not work. I think it will be Ok, but if it's pulling the endpin out when you install it, probably not the right solution. The other/ACE-supplied washer has an easier job with a thinner tailpiece and softer/thinner strap material, but the washer itself is a bit thinner, and has a smaller diameter. I probably will take it off and along on my next trip to ACE.

The problem with the Nomad Acousti-lock system is once installed, you still need to buy a strap lock. The Acousti-lock system only provides a means of attaching an end pin adaptor to your output jack.

This is the simplest solution Ive found for keeping straps on endpin jacks.

I don't always use a strap lock on mine, but it's much easier to find a lock that fits that button than one that will fit on an endpin. There are tons of rubber locks for sale on eBay et al, which will work on a standard strap button, but not many that will work on an endpin cap. But it's just one choice out of many.

I bought some of those recently. There's really not quite enough room on my Northfield end pins for them with the Harrison/NF strap, but I can get it wedged in there for a while. If it gets pulled on enough sideways it could still pop off, but it does help a lot. Not the perfect solution for my specific stuff, but it is still better than nothing.

I visited my neighborhood hardware store, one of those that has one of everything ever made. Somewhere in the store there's a set of drawers with every kind of nut and bold made out of steel, brass, aluminum, etc. They also have sturdy rubber washers. I think I paid 10 or 15 apiece for them and they work like a charm.

The regular strap lock washers do not have a large enough hole in the center to fit over the jack, just a regular end pin. I am going to try and modify one silicone washer and see if I can make it work. I am still reading through all replies, thank you!

I have used these on LR Baggs type acoustic guitar end block preamp jacks, and can't recommend them highly enough:
    Tapastring Strapkeeper

I have also used Grolsh bottle washers on Fender "cone type" strap buttons. Probably not useful for mandolin though!

The common rubber washers I mentioned above will stretch. They're all rubber and they have to be forced on but that makes them more secure. There's absolutely no damage to the instrument.
