    Well done, Jim, as always.
As a fellow Blues traveler, glad to hear your take on the Kidman, Johnny Young. Being from Chicago & following the Blues back in the day, I did hear Johnny a couple of times. This was long before I had taken up the Mandolin, maybe the last time I heard him I had just started. He was fun. It was a novelty that he played a Mandolin. Like you, he is probably my favorite Blues guy who plays Mandolin because I have always enjoyed his singing as well.
Years ago I worked out a version of his Can’t Keep my Foot from jumping, too, lots of useable patterns in there. Sounds like you’ll be playing it cleaner than me.

Thanx for keeping the Blues living,
    Joe B

I’m sure glad the holidays are past tense, now. It’s been weeks since I worked on these lessons and I need to get back on it before my next total hip replacement surgery. It’s hard enough to learn stuff when you get old, never mind all the side issues!

Good luck with your total hip replacement! I don’t need mine yet, but my dad and uncle (only 2 children) had their first in the last year (at 69 and 70), which makes me assume I’ll need the same down the road; and both came through swimmingly, and are 1000X better after - I hope the same for you!

It won’t be my first. I had the right side done in 2009 (due to joint deterioration) and again in 2021 (due to damage in an accident). I’m a fan of PT so I tend to recover fully in a reasonable time. I know I’ll be able to resume playing mandolin much sooner than playing bass. Thanks for the encouragement.
