    Question Acoustic Boost Pedals

Wondering if you all have used boost pedals live. Sometimes I wish I could get a bit more punch during breaks and solos. Is this the right call or are there other strategies? Definitely as a band we try to quiet down when we are taking breaks but sometimes a song is meant to be rowdy and getting quite for breaks kills the energy. Thanks y'all

I have used the boost in my fireye. I have it set slightly above the regular level. I don't use if often, as I can usually play harder and cover a solo, but once in a while it is real handy.

The boost on a Redeye or other preamps is useful, but just as often I'll use an old tube screamer with the gain rolled off for a boost pedal.

I have a 5db boost programmed into my Tonedexter that I will use on loud songs. It's a nice feature to have.

I use the boost on my Red Eye quite often and it sounds great. Very “transparent”. I also have a Smolder on my acoustic pedal board. A nice option and you can add some sustain and/or distortion to your solos.

I can vouch for the RedEye. I currently use a Baggs Venue and play solos in an outlaw country band. Boost is definitely used and appreciated.

Seconding what others have said, I regularly use the boost on my redeye. It sure helps me to be heard, while keeping my playing level in my comfort zone.

Used the boost on my RedEye until I moved to the Venue, where I also use the boost [and never use the tuner].
