This showed up in the classifieds today. Instead of a 1930 Style B, it looks to me like a pre-1920 Style A. If anyone is wanting an L&H, the price is amazing, and it looks to be in good condition. Snap it up!

it's long gone.
I don't think it had a label, and that may have led to the misidentification. Carter's made about a $2,000 boo-boo in pricing it.

I did not see the ad but wonder if Carters will honor the sale. I hope so.

It shows up as sold on the Carter's site. You can click through to the site from any of their Cafe ads and just buy an instrument directly online.

Carter's and/or the consignor will still make the same amount of money they expected to make. It's just that they could have made more. I wouldn't be surprised to see this one again at $4K or above. That's what would happen to it if I had bought it.

Got no compassion, thinks its a sin
All he does is sit around an play the Mandolin"
Yes, somebody did get a deal!
I didn’t see the listing in time. How much did it sell for?
An MCer grabbed it. Details are in this thread: https://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/t...t-Style-B-quot

'Twas listed at $2,500. Given that it seems to have a replaced fretboard with a zero fret, perhaps this price wasn't quite as disastrously low as I first thought, but still, I bet it coulda sold for $1K more.
