Default Midjourney AI is learning how to draw mandolins

Just playing with Midjourney to mess with design ideas. MJ started out coming up with some fun, trippy, but ultimately not very useful suggestions such as these:

But the most recent version now knows how to count things like fingers and strings, and does a much better job. While maybe being a little less fun and trippy.

It's not quite to the point that we need to worry about AI-generated images in ebay and classifieds ads, IMHO, but in the next year or two, that might become something to think about.

The progress from v4 to v5 on hands was impressive. We are a few scant years from Terminators playing heavy metal mandos as they rethink the role of humans.

I don't know what any of this means, but it's really disturbing.

Very entertaining, Marty! Strange that the AI can’t understand at least how the tuners are related to the number of strings. The last one has 11 strings and one with 8 tuners only has 7 strings. I wonder if future versions will include AI demos and generate sound files or even videos. Soon we may be in the future.

Oh, and that last one has a very odd case that just belong to another instrument.

There is no case in that picture, Jim! It's just a really fancy Jackson Pollock painting, haha. So bizarre to wrap your head around.

So far, Midjourney has nothing on Bill Bussmann's creations.

I like the disturbing ones: change the color to play bluegrass and the second one a meaty chop! Keep these coming, Marty!
