Elisa Meyer Ferreira bandolim strings recommendation
Hi,
I just listened to the most recent Mandolins & Beer podcast featuring the wonderful Elisa Ferreira from Choro das 3. She recommended a brand of strings but I can’t find them.
Phonetically the name of the brand of strings would be something like ‘ Ho_shi_no’ which I’ve been puzzling as; replace the ‘ho’ with ‘ro’; shi with ch or x… So, something like Roxhino…any thoughts or help?
All the best,
Blake

My apologies I have found the answer to my own question in the forum archive. The strings I’m looking for are ROUXINOL.

Hello, Blake! He’s right! The strings I use are called Rouxinol! They are very inexpensive here in Brazil.

Good to know - they're also inexpensive in Portugal.

Re: Elisa Meyer Ferreira bandolim strings recommendation
I bought 1/2 dozen sets from this online store in Lisbon, Portugal and delivery was very fast. Looks like the price has gone up, but so has everything.

Re: Elisa Meyer Ferreira bandolim strings recommendation
It's not easy for me where I live (Australia) to source Rouxinol's. The closest substitute in a set that I have found and I think sound good and can get easily at a reasonable price are Ernie Ball Medium Loop End Stainless Steel Mandolin Strings - 10, 14, 24, 36.
Rouxinol R-40's are also steel and 10, 14, 22, 35.
HTH!
