Shutt Artist Model Mandolins on the Market
I don't recall ever seeing at least three of the Shutt 'A' model mandolins, available for sale at any one time. The only exception might be the auction of an important collection of these instruments including a 6 string guitar a few years ago. (technically, I believe this design should be called the A model, rather than the Artist model, a designation that Shutt reserved for his scrolled designs) This design is closely associated with Harmony, and some if not all were made in that factory. But they were marketed and sold by Albert Shutt based in Kansas, well before Gibson incorporated ff-holes, tone bars, and elevated fingerboards into carved-top American mandolins.
Currently, there's this one in the classifieds here.
And this one, on REVERB.
As well as the one at Players Vintage Instruments in CA, that's been discussed in another thread.
