I have two mandolins, one oval hole and one f hole. For the f hole I figure I’ll use a Dampit clone. What should I use for my oval hole mandolin?

Eastman MD-514 (F body, Sitka & maple, oval hole)
Klos Carbon Fiber (on order)
And still saving my nickels & dimes & bottle caps & breakfast cereal box tops for my lifetime mandolin.
You also can use a Dampit for and oval hole. Just slip the tube part between two courses of strings and let the black head keep it from falling into the body cavity. I do this with an old Lyon & Healy bowlback I've had since 1972.
I use the 49% D’Addario Humidipak or the less expensive Boveda equivalent. One in the case under the headstock and one under the strings over the sound hole. Thermostat in the case shows 46-47% in winter here in Los Angeles now.
I always promote humidifying the environment one's instruments shares with their owner, but short of that, a piece of sponge in a small, pierced baggie, shoved in the soundhole, inside a closed case does as well as anything. Be sure to wring the sponge thoroughly, after saturating
too many strings
