    Default Bruno 12 string mandolinetto

    Just finished with this little guy. Crack in back sealed with liquid CA and then French Polished. Beautiful sound. Used one light gauge and two ultralight gauge strings in each course. Makes me wonder why all mandolins don't have 12 strings!Click image for larger version.

    Certainly interesting for a bit of different tonal color especially for a rhythm backup but I can’t imagine playing fast dance tunes as a lead melody instrument. Also, I don’t think the other band members would have the patience to tune between every tune.

    It's actually kept in tune pretty well. I'll see if I can pick out a fingerstyle melody on it and post it.

    Wow, 3 course. Who do you think made it?
    My friend plays Gypsy jazz and has 2 small guitar shaped 4 string mandos.
