I had the pleasure of spending two days with Hans and Maureen Brentrup-a mando tasting event without equal. He has great and varied mando wonders. Here's a pic in the spirit of American Gothic-

The serious look is tongue in cheek. They both have a great sense of humor. Maureen is a serious singer in her own right. We jammed a few tunes. Hans is a great luthier with patience who will let you try his artistry at his home.

You couldn't fine a sweeter person than Maureen, and she can burn (cook)real good too.

I'm amazed at how big Hans' hands are when looking at the exquisite detail on his instruments! I dream of a 3point pair mando and dola of his... ah to dream!

Love the gothic photo by the way. You can tell how funny they are.

Nice picture, Rich. Those folks are the best. It was probably hard to get them both to look serious for a moment; normally I've only seen Hans without a smile when he's scraping binding, and Maureen is quite upbeat and infectiously friendly.
