Default Joel Hobbs, "Ode to Elsie": Robert Margo, liuto cantabile

An outstanding composer, and performer on plucked strings, Joel Hobbs is the founder of the Austin (TX) mandolin orchestra. "Ode to Elsie" is part of Joel's interesting and varied collection of works entitled "Opus 12". Originally for solo mandocello, I perform it here on liuto cantabile (last week I had the pleasure of performing it in the presence of the composer at the CMSA's convention in Kalamazoo, in an arrangement for octave mandolin).

Your performance at Kalamazoo was excellent, but I like it even better on the larger instrument with the added depth and registers.

Thanks, Jim. I agree but, as you know, it's tough transporting one large instrument to the convention, let alone two.
