    Default Micawber Mandolins

Anyone heard of Micawber mandolins out of Tennessee. they have a couple of intriguing Octaves, but I can't find anyone who has actually played them and compared them.

    Their website is: https://micawbermandolins.com

Interesting they are right here in Brentwood and I have not heard of them. Prices seem pretty nice.

They should invest in some more well recorded videos, as all the one's I listened to were pretty thin sounding for an Octave, IMO. But that price is sure nice...

I guess a Micawber mandolin should just turn up and find you...

I sent him a message asking about the tone, so he added a video/sound file.

I just saw these online. I've been looking for an octave mandolin that sounds better than the Eastman I have. If anyone gets one, please post a review. I was looking for a Weber Yellowstone Octave but they seem to be very rare. Wondering if this would fill that void?

Did a little more research. The Micawber octave mandolin appears to be an Afanti, from China. They will customize the build to anything you want. Comparing the stock Afanti and the Micawber, I see he basically just changed the headstock inlays. It's kind of tempting to just buy one from Afanti and do all the setup myself. hmmm
