Thread: The Bulas mandolin

    Default The Bulas mandolin

Featured on today's Mandolin Mondays, Ms. Jastrzebska plays an original tune on her Bulas F model. Very interesting the two nods to two iconic luthiers --- the headstock from the Giacomel J5 and the scroll from the Monteleone Grand Artist.

Here's another video of Karolina playing "Worried Man Blues" on another Bulas instrument. Unique design, too—sort of a modernized lump scroll. Here's the Bulas web site: https://bulas.pl/

And Fisher's Hornpipe on an A-5:

Anyone else have any experience with Bulas mandolins? They have some real beauties on their website and prices are less than half of US equivalent small shop models.

Ms. Jastrzebska‘s playing sounds great in that video. (I did discover she has a relationship with the builder, which doesn’t change how the mandolin sounds, just wondering if anyone else has played these.)
