    Default NMD - Turkey Creek

I can't tell you how many times Ive typed 'turkey creek' into the classifieds search only to find nothing. I finally found one for sale locally well within my budget.

And as of today, I am the proud owner of Turkey Creek #63.

thats a cool looking TC mando. couple years ago when i was first starting with mandolin i found a story about Turkey Creek and Brad Van Loenen. I can't remember the article contents but it was packed full of pictures and people who played the TC brand. That sent me on a journey to find one but i never did. I'm sure i put a post here asking questions about TC, but i'd have to look deep to find it.

    Is he still building?

I have no idea if he's building mandolins or not. His website isn't very updated, no social media, etc. This mandolin is basically right on par for everything I have read about TC mandolins. Perhaps not the cleanest build ever but it sounds amazing and is very easy to play. And for the price paid, I am happy I have a mando from a boutique, local builder. I just threw some new strings on her last night and it sounds even better.

I found it on consignment at Olde Town Pickn' Parlor. Drove up, played it for a half hour, and pulled the trigger.

Thanks! My wife noticed this before I did but if you check out the headstock inlay there is an ohm symbol in it.
