    Default How's She Lookin' Now?

The Well Worn F2 has some new finery! Me and my mando took a trip up to Jake Wildwoods yesterday to fix her up in her fancy new duds.

Hey, I think putting on the new (old) Handel tuners made her sound better, added to the sustain or something like that

Well, they work better than the repros did anyway. And they (along with the pickguard and tp cover) look freakin' awesome!

Careful Ms. Rieter, readers in the UK have somewhat different slang than we do.

There was a slogan when Ford replaced the Model T with the Model A: "Henry made a lady out of Lizzie!" You're making quite a stylish sweetie out of that beat-up F-2. I take back all the skepticism I expressed when you were considering purchasing it.

    Love Handel tuners!

The mandolin is looking great. I really like black roundhole mandolins (A-s and F-s).

    Since you´re at it:
    - Get a scroll repair
    - Get faux frets at the extension

Then the old lady will be as spiffy as the best of them.

Need a few more $$$ before I can do anything else. Those tuners set me back some.

What a beauty! The headstock would be a plus point for me. It's an honest, and fairly common break.
Glad to see some Handel tuners in action.

This is so understandable. Just don't forget.

The Handel tuners are wonderful. I have a soft spot for old tuners.

Even an older girl looks good in a little black outfit and the right accessories. Very nice indeed.

I've been getting into the old Gibson round hole-oval hole instruments-some are exceptional tonal beasts! And those early Black topped Gibson's are gorgeous! I've had a few of those throughout the years. I still may have to get me one of those sweet blonde Torch and wire F-4's! The 3 points sure are really KOOL but I love the early teens that don't have that 3rd top point! But hey I'd take a 3 point! Simply sweet man!

Jake is awesome, and he put the tuners, pickguard and tailpiece cover on (it took some careful bending), but Dave Richard, who I got the mando from last fall, did the refret and binding on the fretboard, and that's pretty great, too.
