    Default Tune of the Week

    Hey there folks,

I wanted to alert you all to this series I have been working on, in case you haven't seen it.

Each week I'm featuring a what I would consider a "deep cut" tune from great mandolin players - either players that are underrated, or lesser known tunes from more famous players.

We're in week #17 now and so far have done tunes like "Rondo" (Frank Wakefield), "Speckled Pups" (Dempsey Young), "Hangin' Dog" (Nancy Blake), and more tunes by players like Donna Stoneman, Aubrey Haynie, Red Rector, and more.

I post these lessons to YouTube for free, but you can support this project via Patreon which will give you access to the tabs/transcriptions and backing tracks.

Additionally, this requires a lot of digging for tunes on my end, so I'd love in some folks here on the cafe chimed in with some great lesser known mandolin tunes that you might like for me to present!

    Best to all,
    Thomas Cassell

Thanks for sharing the videos, Thomas. Happy to see a Butch Baldassari tune included. How about Lands End by Tim O'Brien, Big Indian Blues by Mike Compton, Cruisin' Timber by Dorsey Harvey, and more people need to learn Poor Richard's Blues by Sam Bush.
