Ryder says on his webpage on the Ryder Em-44/45, that custom wiring could be done, ask for pricing.. i want a Em-45 with dual humbuckers...should their be custom wiring with those type of pickups for maximum tonal range? if so, what kind of custom wiring?

its different than a guitar, i would think, primarily becuse, the distance between a bridge pickup , and a neck pickup is very small, with a 14" scale.

His custom wiring for this sort of thing means options for you in the area of phase or coil splitting, that sort of thing. Absent that, he'll set you up with a standard three-way switch.

so i shouldn't get a out of phase switch? the funky sound created by it could be replicated by a effects pedal? or is it unique to the out of phase switch..

I didn't want a phase switch, but you might. #Go to a guitar store, and ask to play an instrument that has a phase switch built in, that way you'll be able to get an idea of the sound. #This is not going to give you the same difference in sound as a phase pedal at all, it's a very subtle thing. #I'd be surprised if there was anything wrong with your instrument when you got it.

"All the options" for two humbucking pickups could include single/double coil switching, in and out of phase, coil tapping, etc. Look at Seymour Duncan, Stewart MacDonald web pages for more details on guitar wiring. Anything that can be done for a Les Paul can also be done on a 2HB mando. All the options can make you dizzy.
I upgraded my order (Ryder Em-45) to a phase switch for each humbucker. When the switches are off, (on normal mode), will the sound be the same as a similar emando that has no phase switches? the output would not be reduced, and the sound quality will be the same?
