Default Suggested mods to Gold Tone OM-800+

I just bought a Gold Tone OM-800+ octave mandolin and was wondering if any of you have some suggested mods that would improve the sound and playability. I've already adjusted the truss rod to straighten the neck and that has helped and have adjusted the bridge height a little on the bass side.

Aside from that do any of you have other recommendations?

    Thanks.

Have you confirmed that the bottom of the bridge is correctly fitted to the top? Youtube will provide you with how to do this if needed. Do you know which strings were installed by the factory? Strings can make a huge difference.
