Saw this at Gruhn’s and was not familiar with the builder.

Gruhn’s has some videos on Facebook of Billy Strings and Bryan Sutton trying them out. (I pasted in a link below, but if folks don’t have FB you can find some other demo videos via google.)

They sound pretty great to me.

Any owners on the Cafe that can share their experience?

Gruhn's page on the mandolin says:

a superb hand crafted instrument made by master violin builders with violin style purfling and edges, carefully graduated top and back, oil varnish as used on master grade violins, exceptionally fine tone and dynamic range on par with the finest vintage mandolins, HC $12,000.00
Looks like a violin-styled mandolin similar to Campanella.

This is from their website. Apparently they are well regarded for their fiddles.

I’m curious about the “proprietary acoustic bracing.”

I got one about a month ago and absolutely love it. Mine's technically a prototype built before they went into production, but I've been in the shop and played several different ones, this one is as good as any of the final production models. Very responsive and even tone across the spectrum, these are very nice sounding mandolins, although in my opinion a little warmer and rounder toned than your typical bluegrass mandolin. That can be a great asset though, depending on what you want out of it. I certainly am enjoying mine.
