    Default Mel bay sale

Tried to get a book on their site but after entering the code I get ‘promotion expired 11/25.’

The ad here says it’s still current.

    Anybody else see this issue?

Possible they might not have initiated this correctly. I emailed our contact there. Their mailing list went out this morning stating 40% through Christmas Day with code DIGITAL

My contact mailed back immediately, said they'd texted their IT guy and it should, hopefully, be working correctly soon. I'd give it an hour.

I thought it was something simple.

Btw, I also tried the magic word ALL CAPS and lowercase, and ebook versus print, in case it was me.

    Thanks for the help.

The seem to constantly have a sale. Only the end date and code word change.

    That seems so.

And sometimes it’s 10% and sometimes it’s 40%. And sometimes it includes ebooks and sometimes it doesn’t.

And sometimes I buy something and sometimes I don’t :)

Depends on your whim and areas of interest or needed improvement.

311 mandolin titles. Over 200 bluegrass titles. Over 700 jazz, more than 400 Celtic titles. 300 gospel books.

Plus technical violin studies for fingering and string crossing exercises.

NFI, I just think there are things to learn in a wide variety of sources.

I find their books to be quite good. I haven't bought a bad one yet. If there is something I need right away, I just order it. If I can wait, I hold off until they have a 30% sale. 30% comes by often enough. 40% is relatively rare. Good music at a good price. I think this is a company worth supporting. Our options for printed music aren't that many, and their catalog is pretty broad. Kudos to them.

I think everyone should have a copy of Ted Eschliman 'Getting Into Jazz Mandolin'. John McGann has a number of good books on Mel Bay also. I also like Marilynn Mair's Choro mandolin and complete mandolinist books. And if you want the mandolin and guitar transcriptions from the Grisman and Rice Tone Poem album, there's a book for that too.

With the 40 percent off sale, finally sprung for the 5 other fiddle tune books by Stacy Phillips. These collectively used to be Vol. 2 of the Phillips Collection. I think. Either way, a great trove of tunes

Also, Playford for Mandolin by the late John Goodin is also highly recommended.
