Northfield Recurve or Hiscox?

These seem to be roughly in the same price ballpark. One could split hairs, but it's close enough. If you were to choose one, which would you choose and why? I do need for the ToneGard to fit in the case.

With a Tone guard the mando should fit ok in the Airloom. My Northfield F5 is very loose not having one. It is a firm shell case. Definitely not a hard shell. I don’t know anything about Hiscox but perhaps that’ll help.

The Airloom is lighter, and does fit a mandolin with ToneGard. I have not used a Hiscox, but have seen them in person. Larger, heavier and presumably more protection against impacts. The Hiscox is nearly impossible to find right now in the US.

If I were planning to fly or load the case into a van with a bunch of PA gear, then the Hiscox.

I have a Recurve Airloom and it is a fine case.

The Hiscox is hands down the better of the two IMO. Steve Mead's comment above is a wise one.....that used Hiscox is a good deal, if still available. I hope that they once again begin selling their cases to US-based dealers, as I would love to grab a dreadnaught case (or two)!

I have a Hiscox case for my Gibson Fern. Fantastic case. I would buy it again. Semi-indestructible. I tour a bit and the case is still perfect after half a dozen years.
