    Default Crucial Link

    Jus' sayin'

We can have the nicest sounding mandolin but if it's not set up PERFECTLY it won't ever be at its best. Having a Luthier who will go the distance is the link between OK and perfect. A Luthier who will hear what the musician is saying and then make it happen. A tiny buzz on this fret, the neck is too straight, etc and etc. The musical artist knows their instrument intimately and what it needs for the inclusive set up that will provide the optimal playing opportunities.

The talented, artistic luthier is the crucial link.

    YES!

    And…

    YES!!!

It helps to know some set up on your own. I could do better knowing set up myself. The best set up mandolin that I played was a Lloyd Loar F-5 that was set up by Dave Harvey.
