    Default Mandolin Case Storage Solution

Good Afternoon Café Colleagues: I have been searching for a storage rack for my cases. I have a wide assortment of instruments and cases: mandolins, mandola, tenor guitar, mountain dulcimer. I found this rack made by String Swing. I am very happy with it, as it holds all my cases neatly. I have quick access to instruments and I am pleases with the appearance. I have NO financial interest in String Swing or their retailers. The rack was easy to assemble as all the holes were pre-drilled and spot-on perfect. The hardwood was very solid. Because of its excellent design and structure, I did not use the glue included. Click image for larger version.

That is a nice little rack. I've seen others make their own from wood or PVC, too. I like the nice clean lines and minimal build for storage. Thanks for sharing.

Agreed! I keep a hygrometer and a small room humidifier next to the stand.

Question/comment- It appears as though the stand needs to be a bit away from the wall in order for a guitar case to sit properly. So if it is sitting along a wall how many inches is it to the most forward part of the biggest case. Thanks, I have a bit of a tight spot I want to put a stand in. Steve

I was just today thinking that I should ask my husband to make a rack for our instrument cases (okay, okay. My cases and his case). Thank you for the timely post and replies and photos!

I think my family would let me buy a new mandolin before they would let me take a closet!

As an aside, it is not a good idea to have the instrument cases in contact with an outside wall. Inside wall much less concern, but for an outside wall you want a significant space for air to freely flow between the cases and the wall.

I was thinking along the same lines. Closets can get pretty humid, even if you don't live in Florida.
