Default New John Reischman Album - New Time & Old Acoustic

John Reischman just revealed the album cover and name of his upcoming solo album on Instagram and we have something to add to this. Some info at the link below which appears on his new Instagram page. John was the second interview we published back in 2009, and while we've done a couple of features with him over the years, as part of the marketing engine churning along for this one I'm happy to announce we were offered to host a detailed feature interview which will be appearing here in the next 4-5 weeks. The interview is being put together for us by Tristan Scroggins who has been doing a lot of music writing for a lot of online magazines the past few years. Can't wait to hear this music and to host this interview.

If it is close to as good as that recording of Salt Spring, I will wear it out. He gets incredible sound out of that worn out old gibson.

    I wouldn't call John's legendary F5 "worn-out"... I'd call it warmed-up!

I agree with Glassweb that JR's Loar may be well worn, but it's far from worn out.

I, too, am glad that Reischman has finally rerecorded Salt Spring, which I only discovered through that Jaybirds seaside video of it a few years ago. Maybe he could include this alternate version in his next recording.

That old thing? Pffft. I hope he clears enough money out of this new recording to buy a new instrument.

It is indeed, and I'm bummed I didn't copywrite it 3 years ago when I came up with it for a description of what I was putting together at the time for a project. Said project never got fully up due to the pandemic. Oh well, John certainly can do it more justice than I would have!

John's new recording is officially out today. Get your copy on his Bandcamp page. Tomorrow we'll publish our feature interview with John with everything about the new album including the musicians he recorded with and the amazing group of instruments used on the recording.

The download still only delivers a single track. Maybe a bit of delay getting everything in place.

Edit: Around 9:30 AM (Central Time) I got an updated email and, now, the download does contain the entire album!

Haven't tested but it's now showing "purchase" text instead of "pre-order" from this morning so assume this has resolved.

My copy was delivered very quickly. Great listening. Lots of original material, and a deep talent pool. It'll be getting a lot more play time.

Peghead posted this video of John and Scott playing Sarafina. What a gorgeous tune and tone!
