    Question celtic big body mandolins

Greetings! Has anyone played and inspected or flat out owned a big body teardrop style celtin mando made by Siveen or Brian Lofthouse ? Are they quality? are they resonant , with more sustain than usual? Loud for Irish session? If you have had either in your hands I'd like to hear your opinions- thanks Jc

Very positive review for Siveen here. Excellent craftsmanship, responsive and loud for Irish sessions and a really good value for the price. I wouldn't say any more sustain than usual. Paul is excellent to deal with too.

I've played both, but in music shops not at sessions. Both were louder than you'd expect, Maloney Music in Galway has/had both in stock. I ended up with a Jimmy Moon A2, but I would have been happy with any. The Lofthouse I played was particularly nice, but I went for the Moon in the end.
