Default "Heart of Gold" by N. Young harmonica intro

I have a couple of upcoming (outdoor) gigs and the singer has called for HOG.

For the harmonica intro, the first two lines sit nicely, but copying the third line doesn't sound right yet.

Its just chord tones (to my ear) in double stops:

    - - - - - - - G - -
    - - - D - - - D - -
    B - - B - - - - - -
    G - - - - - - - - -

So far, clawhammer picking has worked best but I am still not happy. Has any one played this part?

What an amazing community, and no small coincidence that my case has a Cafe sticker next to my Mandolins and Beer sticker!

Much better; I was voicing the first double stop using open low g and 9th fret on d string.
