    Default Parsons Flying V 5-string

Anyone know of an e-mando builder named Parsons?

Will Parsons of West Virginia was pretty well known for his acoustic mandolins a few years ago, but doesn't seem to be active any longer. Don't know if he made anything like this.

There was a Scott Parsons in Ohio who built a few mandolins in the early 2000s. Again, those were acoustics as far as I know.

The script logo looks somewhat similar to one used by Australian guitar maker Jon Parsons, but he got back to me and said this wasn't his.

Randy Parsons, formerly in the Seattle area and now in L.A., is a boutique guitar maker who's built for Jack White of the White Stripes and others. I doubt this is his, but there's a shop near my house operated by a woman who used to work with him. She'd probably know.

Anyhow, this Flying V is on its way to me but I'd like to find out more about it.

Ah, here we go ... a Kevin Parsons in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Logo seems to match.

There's even an acoustic A-style mandolin by Parsons here, with a note by Jimmy Powells, who often posts here if I'm not mistaken.

I am most likely going to remove the snakeskin.

    Hi Martin,
Curious to know more about the Parsons emando, I have one of his electric solid body and a resonator that he made. Thanks.

Well, it's here on the wall and is one of this year's projects. It was missing a bridge post and I'm having a friend make a new one. I got the snakeskin off and used solvent to remove some of the glue residue, but more work needs to be done in that department. Hoping to have it restored to full health in 2022.
