Default Joe K Walsh, Darol Anger and Mike Barnett

Thought I'd share this great video. The fiddle playing is wonderful, but what is also striking is how Joe's rhythm playing really drives the tune...and his solo break is fantastic too

Joe is one of the most intuitive and tasteful musicians out there. And he’s just a cool dude.

I had to watch this three times to get past the phenomenal fiddle playing before I was able to focus on Joe's incredible right hand.

    Good stuff, there...

Thanks for sharing this Evan. I've just discovered Joe in the last few years via his work on Mr. Sun and Darol's E-And 'A. BTW, I couldn't help but notice in your signature- you've got quite a nice collection of mandolins!

Thanks Rob - The result of several years or horse trading. I'm a big fan of Joe's work. Great solo player and composer, but the video I posted is a great example of how well he listens and weaves his mandolin playing into an ensemble situation

Oh, for pity's sake! Oh my goodness!!
Quote from the announcer at the end of the performance.

I agree with all that was said earlier. But would add that the piece is well organized, or arranged in compositional terms. Add that to some guys that 'are on top of their game' and it is a sure winner.

    Oh my goodness, indeed!
