Default Eastwood MRG octave Mando VS MRG Tenor

    Hello,
I am trying to understand the difference between MRG octave Mando VS MRG Tenor
    https://eastwoodguitars.com/products/mrg-octave-mando
    https://eastwoodguitars.com/products/mrg-tenor
I Know that the width at the nut is different an the Octave mando has more strings...but beyond that - does the tenor have a deeper sound? Are the strings thicker? Which one is longer? Is there any videos of MRG Tenor?

I have the octave but never experienced the tenor, I like the octave a lot, could use a slightly shorter scale and maybe a different bridge, but for the cost it is a very nice electric octave.

the scale is the same for the two instruments - 23'...
you can try a different bridge.
    what strings are you using ? G.042, D.032, A.018, E.011 ?

So I asked Eastwood what is the difference between these 2 models and the answer was: The Octave Mando has doubled routes of strings like a mandolin.

If that's the only difference, and considering that you can use an Octave Mando with only 4 strings, why is there a Tenor???

    It came tuned GADE

    I went back to G D A E

it is probably what you have listed.

sounds like the tenor is just an 4 string version of the same neck and body as the octave, but I would expect is tuned CGDA.

it just depends do want the single string for bends and maybe slide or do you want the coursed for the doubled sound.

one of these days I will post a demo.
but for the price it is very good quality IMHO.
